Sound insulation is only ensured with full-surface bonding. This must take place on a dry and stable sub-surface that is free from oil and dust. The sub-surface and the sheet should be at least 15 °C. Due to the visco-elastic properties of Idikell, application can be difficult at temperatures above 20 °C. Pull off the paper and press down the sheet firmly over the complete area, e.g. with a pressure roller. The adhesive bonds immediately; however, it only serves as an installation aid and in no way replaces the mechanical fixation. This also applies in particular to overhead application or vertical surfaces. You should therefore always secure Idikell mechanically as well or secure it between two component layers. Avoid any forced tension by leaving expansion spaces (narrow end joints).
Remarks
Direct contact must be avoided between Idikell and materials containing plasticisers or solvents. Where necessary, carry out trials on the suitability of the material for the intended purpose. Discuss any special applications with our Application Engineering department. All the possible applications cannot be fully presented here. Our construction drawings are schematic representations and are not intended to replace the final design drawings with all their aids and fixations.
Transport and storage
Store Idikell on a completely flat and even supporting surface to avoid deformation and folds. Please note the temperature specifications regarding storage and application.
