Ampacoll Airmax spray primer
Surfaces / materials to be bonded
Ampacoll Airmax spray primer is a primer for Ampacoll adhesive strips on porous or rough surfaces, such as masonry, plaster, concrete, bare wood, soft wood fibre board, etc.
Preparation
Surfaces, connections and materials to be bonded must be clean and dry and free of dust and grease. Remove any concrete or cement residue.
Application
Protect plastics and sensitive surfaces by covering them before spraying. Evenly apply a strip of primer which is as wide as the adhesive tape to the surface. Spray absorbent surfaces slowly and intensively (in a single process). Protect sprayed surfaces from dust and moisture, etc. Allow the primer to dry. Depending on the temperature and surface, this usually takes between 10 and 40 minutes. In the case of humidity or low temperatures the curing time may increase. The primer remains tacky. The primer is completely dry when fingerprints can no longer be seen or are barely visible. Perform overhead applications first with a fresh can. The spray head can be turned twice. By turning the small black nozzle it is possible to direct the spray jet. By turning the whole spray head to the positions Low, Medium, High it is possible to regulate the spray volume.
Cleaning
Splashes must be removed immediately. If work is interrupted, clean the spray head with a cloth. Regularly clean the spray head with a cloth to prevent blockages. To do so, spray a tiny amount of primer onto a cloth and then wipe this over the spray head.
Note
Ampacoll Airmax spray primer is not compatible with paint. Paints, varnishes and plastics may dissolve. Test whether the primer is compatible with adjacent materials.
