The protective function of a nail seal
What good is the best roof membrane when water can penetrate the screw or nail holes? Ampacoll ND Duo nail sealing tape is your guarantee for water-tight roof membranes. Twisted counter battens, shrinking wood, extreme alternating cycles of wet and dry, low contact pressure, poor adhesion of the nail in the rafters, mechanical loading from scaffolding or tile trestles, permanent snow coverings – these are all potential sources of damage!
Tips when laying
Option 1: Mark out a line for each batten and glue Ampacoll ND Duo directly onto the underlay material. Then fix the battens.
Option 2: Apply Ampacoll ND Duo directly to the battens. This can be carried out in the workshop. The battens can then be easily moved around on the roofing membrane and positioned correctly. The liner can be easily removed from the side, without tearing.
Ampack recommends
Counter battens are extremely susceptible to the extremes of wet and dry. Therefore for better insulation a nail seal is preferred to screwing the counter battens.
